Students receive individual and/or group assistance with homework and special projects. When homework is completed, students may work independently on educational activities to reinforce or strengthen their reading/writing or math skills.
Volunteer tutors are available for more in-depth assistance with schoolwork.
PSSA (Pennsylvania Standardized Test) TUTORING SESSIONS
Special sessions are held in the spring ahead of PSSA testing to help students with strategies for decoding questions, and practicing skills.
PARENT WORKSHOPS AND ADVOCACY
Our Program Director and teacher volunteers work with parents to assist in interfacing with the school.
Throughout the school year, several workshops are held on food, cooking and nutrition, internet safety, and other topics. Local authors come in for readings.
Each trimester, students can participate in music lessons, tennis lessons, computer tutorials, and cultural field trips.
